Who would have guessed in a quaint little kampung on the outskirts of Klang, lies a bustling eatery. On your way towards Kampung Delek, as you drive thru Jalan Sungai Udang its almost impossible for you to miss this mom-n-pop little restaurant aptly named Nasi Padang Sungai Udang (NPSU).
As you probably can already guess from the name, NPSU serves exquisite Padang cuisine; and by exquisite we mean nothing like the ´tailored´ version that we sometimes get elsewhere in Malaysia. Here the spices are brought in from its motherlode -- Padang, Indonesia; so that the original taste is preserved.
Old fashion nasi padang thats finger licking good. One glance thru the restaurant and you will already feel at ease plus of course start salivating. The inviting aroma will certainly attract your curiosity.
"Dig-in" says Kak Mimi, the homely owner and wife of reining chef Abang Jeffri. Both hail from Indonesia, and have been operating a small stall not far away from the current NPSU location for about 20years now. They only just moved to the restaurant about 3 weeks ago (since Mar 9th 2011).
When a small stall operator can last for 20years at the same location; you can be assured that they are serving good stuff. Loyal customers are made after only the first bite.
LOL. Now I have found a reason to use the term "You had me at ___ ".
NPSU; you had me at first bite :) !
